About the app
Tap Good Night at night, and the apps you chose lock. In the morning they stay locked until you’re up and walking. The earlier you sleep and wake, the more time you get for social and video apps that day. Whatever you don’t use is saved for the weekend.
- Keeping your bedtime and wake-up goals earns today’s time for those apps (up to 90 minutes a day)
- Time you don’t use becomes saved time, which you can use later in 15-minute coins
- The wake-up check uses your iPhone’s step count. Starting 60 minutes before your wake-up goal, the moment you reach your step goal (50 by default) counts as your wake-up time
- Every morning you keep goes in your log, and you can save a Morning Card image
- Rest-day goals can follow weekdays, specific dates, or all-day calendar events. Book a night off for trips and nights out
- Works on iPhone only (it uses the pedometer)
FAQ
How much is free?
Everything is free for 14 days after you install. No purchase needed, and the trial never turns into a paid plan on its own. When it ends, app locking, today’s time, and saved time stop, and your apps open right away. Your log stays.
What does it cost?
Every plan has the same features. Australian prices include GST. Prices in other countries follow the App Store.
How do I cancel?
Yearly and Monthly can be cancelled in Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > Yoake on your iPhone. You keep access until the end of the period you’ve paid for. Lifetime has nothing to cancel. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Where are my records stored?
Only on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. There’s no developer server and no account. Which apps you chose and how long you used them never reach the developer. See the Privacy Policy for details.
I walked this morning, but my apps didn’t open
It’s almost always one of these.
- You walked without your iPhone. Your iPhone counts the steps, so keep it in a pocket or in your hand
- You walked more than 60 minutes before your wake-up goal. Steps before then don’t count
- Motion & Fitness permission is off. Turn on Yoake in Settings > Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness
- The check runs when you open Yoake. Open Yoake from the lock screen and tap Check Steps
It says Screen Time permission was removed
Screen Time permission on your iPhone was turned off. Allow it again from Screen Time Permission under About in the Settings tab. Days without permission are recorded in your log as “no permission.”
I need my apps right now
While your apps are locked, tap Emergency Unlock to open them for 15 minutes. In normal mode the first one each day is free, and the next costs 30 minutes of saved time. In Strict Mode you get one a week.
Will it lock Phone or Maps too?
Don’t include apps you need in an emergency, such as Phone, Messages, or Maps. Apps to Lock is meant for the apps you want less of, like social media, short video, and games.
What about trips and nights out?
Tap Take tonight off on the morning screen, or book ahead under Nights Off in Settings. That night your apps stay open, and there’s no check the next morning. Strict Mode allows two a month.
I got a new iPhone
If you’re signed in to iCloud, your log, saved time, and goals are backed up automatically and can be merged on the new iPhone (iCloud Backup in Settings). Get your plan back with Restore Purchases on the Plan screen. Only the app selection needs to be chosen again on each device.
Does it work on iPad?
No. The wake-up check needs a pedometer, so Yoake is iPhone only.
